In 2019, Alex left New York in search of a fresh start, and found it in an unlikely place: epoxy coatings. With no background in flooring, he was drawn in purely by the opportunity he saw in a trade that most people were sleeping on.
What followed was years of serious self-investment. He flew regularly to New Jersey to learn from seasoned industry veterans, studied different coating systems in his off-hours, and dove deep into the chemistry behind the products. Resources were scarce industrywide, but Alex was fortunate to learn from true pioneers including Chris Lavin and the team at XPS, who remain leaders in the space to this day.
As epoxy went mainstream, something started to bother him. The industry was growing, but not cleanly. Supply houses and installers cutting corners, undercutting each other, and operating like fly-by-night handymen: all while sitting on a trade with real, long-term earning potential. Alex believed epoxy deserved better, and so did the people trying to build a career in it.
That frustration became the foundation for Epoxy Training Experts.
